Yellow Costa Rican Banana Roaches
Intro
The Costa Rican Banana Roach, or just the “Costa Rican” is a subspecies of green banana roach native to costa rica rather than Cuba. A beautiful and personable roach, the shimmering green/gold wings of this species is a sight to behold. They can be bred as feeders, kept in bioactive setups, or kept as exotic pets for any insect collectors or reptile room. This species can produce individuals that are yellow in color.
Size
.Slightly larger than the green banana roach, this species can reach 1.5-2 inches and live for almost 3 years!
Care
This species enjoys burrowing in loose substrate, regardless of age. Any substrate used should hold humidity as it allows this species to molt and breed better. Adults primarily hide under cork bark and charcoal, whereas nymphs spend nearly all their time under the substrate
Origins
This species likely branched off from the green banana roach (Cuban Banana Roach).. This species is primarily kept in captivity as feeders and display pets.
