Blue Podura Springtails
Overview
These Springtails are tiny 1-2mm. They breed well at room temp to mid 80’s and are an excellent choice for Bioactive temperate setups. There is not a species of springtails that lays eggs quite as these do. They lay them in large globular clusters, and usually, there will be a few adults nearby.
Adult Females can get up to 5mm.
Husbandry and Diet
In captivity, this Springtail loves to feed on fungi, decaying matter, and yeast, which is what makes it a tremendous bioactive addition to keep terrariums clean. When cultured, we give these springtails our in-house springtail food that boosts their numbers and productivity. They can survive in a wide range of environments (55-78 degrees), they were originally found in Massachusetts.
